Dark purple ruby in color, Browning miniscus. Acid is medium, ripe softened tannins, alcohol high, bone dry, medium to full bodied.
Aromas of cherry, vanilla, blackberries, and stewed plums.
On the palate, bright ripe cherries, ripe blackberries, oak, vanilla, and stewed strawberries. Hints of hibiscus flowers and rose petals, bramble and cedar. Secondary notes of licorice and allspice.
Overall good, still good aging potential. Hasn't fully softened.

Dark inky purple colored, full bodied, dense concentrated but superbly balanced and integrated, bright expressive ripe sweet blackberry and black raspberry fruits predominate with layers of cassis, dark mocha, with hints of oak, vanilla and graphite. Wine Spectator set the drinking window through 2023 and it certainly appeared to be at its apex.
This was another great bottle of Beringer Private Reserve. Very similar in notes to my last bottle. A few more left of the original half case I bought. Can’t wait to try the next botte.

I don’t know, I’m just in kind of a down phase about cabs in general right now. First night, decanted for an hour and was still killing my mouth throughout the evening. Second night (under pump) much softer and drinkable, with good flavors, balance and depth. But is it worth it?

Tasted with some friends at a local restaurant in Calabasas and this was an amazing bottle of wine right from the start. Everyone agreed this was the best bottle of the night amongst some great competition. Density and complexity with beautiful fruit and acid balance. Got vanilla, blackberry, and chocolate and coffee notes on this bottle. This was hitting on all cylinders. I have three more of these and will try to drink them over the next couple of years to capture this at peak.
