thinner bodied than one might expect from WA State and a bit more of an austere, peppery, leaner-berried profile. Northern Rhone? Not really but maybe a few steps farther toward that side of the spectrum than the average WA Syrah.

Very nice syrah. Stong flavors of cracked black pepper with nice fruit to support it. No wow factor (though I have saved some for the next day to see how it develops). But very good value and worth every penny.

A great bottle of wine. One of the less known and best values available in Walla Walla. Drinking great now but yet could be held for a few more years. Wonderful integration of tannins and fruit that produce a wine of exceptional depth and complexity. Enjoyable drink by itself or with food. Was one of the first bottles to be empty at a wine party that was mostly offering higher end wines.

10/21/12: Cassis on the nose followed by black currant, fresh tobacco leaves, ripe raspberry, black pepper, caramel, creme brulee on the end with cayene pepper. This syrah is layered, boasts body, game, black pepper, raspberry, earth and mushroom. Initial heat on the back end completely dissipated after 30mins. Additional flavors of wet cement and pomegranate finished long with a gradual tapering of sleekness. This opened up after 90+ minutes and fleshed out with great acidity. Very pretty and masculine, but not a fruit bomb. This wine continued to evolve over 2+ hours, showing incredible balance by a truly gifted winemaker. Billo, you rock my wine world! 92-93+points Would benefit from 1-2 more years or generous aeration.
