  • 2010 Seavey Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

This is a stellar wine in a beautiful drinking window. started sipping after a 30 minute decant and enjoyed over two hours. Beautiful integration between primary and secondary notes with the increasing presence of tertiary notes. The tannins are still prominent but after 30 minutes, had mellowed enough that they seamlessly carried the flavors throughout a long taste profile. Dark fruits, cedar, loam, violet, spices, tobacco with nice minerality on the end of the taste profile. I love Seavey wines at the 20 year mark. I hope I can behave long enough to keep the remaining bottles untouched in the cellar...

  • 2013 Melka Métisse Jumping Goat

This wine held a beautiful balance of fruit, earth, spice and mineral notes. Medium density wine that remained integrated throughout the 3 hours of consumption (one hour decant). This wine is in a nice drinking window and likely has another decade of good drinking. Cheers!

  • 2013 Fairchild Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 2 Pritchard Hill

Decanted for one hour. The nose right from the bottle was vibrant dark fruits and violet notes. This wine was a dynamic bouquet of aromas held together with smooth, prominent tannin. Throughout the four hours of consuming the wine (served with hickory smoked, porterhouse steaks and roasted broccoli and carrots) the consistent theme was dark blue fruit notes, with some beautiful cedar, blood, iron and quartz. The tasting profile ranged from thirty seconds to one minute.
Kudos to Mr. Fairchild and Mr. Melka for creating a beautiful masterpiece. I look forward to seeing this wine further evolve over the next couple of years between bottles!
