Im sure this was a much better wine a few years ago. This is slightly reduced, the acidity has faded out. Still, its quite soft and plush, with some interesting tobacco and mint. Not enough stuffing to evolve further; drink up.

Went to a charity dinner and was surprised to find that someone dug this out of his cellar. It has held up ok. It is pleasant, soft, and somewhat elegant. But there's nothing particularly interesting going on either.

Nose showed some ash and red fruit. Pine sol. The ash blew off after about 2 hours revealing a nice, firmly red baritone type aroma with mouth feel. Nice cran and tart red cherry fruit with some mild funk. Seemed young, even adolescent.
This was my last bottle, hold any well stored bottles for 5+ years. I'd bet there is a definite upside here.

Nothing like bringing 2 bottles to small intimate restaurant for a spontaneous night at the beach. First was a great showing of burnt michelins, second was this. Aghhhhh.

Some Oregon wines with friends (My backyard): Bought on release and cellared by me. This was pop and pour and it did need some air to open and throw off some bottle funk. At 14 years from vintage, I think it is close to peak, but certainly in no hurry. The nose has cherries, some forest floor, a bit of funk, a slight dried cherry note. On the palate, round fresh cherry fruit, some pie filling, some fresh raspberries. Layered and somewhat complex. Great finish. Got better all night long. It would be interesting to put this up against a comparably priced Drouhin ($40Ohio on release) from Burgundy. Both good vintages. I would guess it is ageing just as well.

Noticed some sediment during decanting. Good clean color with a touch of orange on the edge. Nice promising mellow pinot noir nose, a bit tired, but still vivid. A little fruit balanced with mellow acid in the mouth, fading in the middle,, and a nice, if too gentle, finish. Could use some more structure and complexity. It's likely too old (if I had more I'd drink it now), but then again maybe it never had the complexity to begin with. I'm still a fan and enjoyed this very good wine.

Clearly on it's downward decline at this point, yet it is still very good. The fruit is now a bit muted, but there is still some lovely clove and cinnamon notes. Elegant and smooth, this requires some attention to detect the secondary characteristics. I believe these were best drunk young.

Drank from a 375. This is mature at this point, but with a solid amount of fruit left. I'd be looking to start drinking my 750's. Overall, a nice bottle of wine, maturing nicely.

I was surprised with how well balanced this wine was. Very smooth and elegant with rapsberry, earth, clove and some well integrated forest floor. This was at peak.

Brickish plum, with some purple tinge. The nose is full of damp earth, wood, and mostly earth flavors, with a little sour cherry in the background. Still some good fruit, but really maturing, without any brightness. Medium bodied, but light tannins. Nice acidity, as well. This wine is drinking very harminous, although it needs food at this point to really show its stuff. After an hour, some cherries, strawberries and fruit came on strong on the nose, and the wine hit its stride. Very enjoyable, but I'd say it's at its peak right now, and is best drunk in the next year or two.

I really enjoyed this wine again. Silky mouthfeel, a broad spectrum of black and red cherry fruit and a nicely integrated, pleasing earthiness. Excellent balance on the finish. At peak now. A great QPR.

Light nose of raspberries, cranberries, dried herbs, with dusty earth and warm spices. Palate consists of rhubarb, vanilla, raspberries, and toast. High acidity and light body make this a nice wine with food. The finish is medium with some light tannins still present.

This has really come around. Much more integrated, supple, and well rounded. Has shed some of that overt tartness that marred some of the other bottles than any of my previous bottles. Mix of oak and fruit notes with round raspberry, vanilla, and nutmeg notes.

Wow this has aged wonderfully. A 92+ point nose of intense, almost candied, raspberry and cherry fruit, along with vanilla and sweet earth. The intense red fruits continue on to the palate. The only reservation - the finish lacks a little punch. I hope my other 99 Oregon Pinots develop this well.

($50) Cola herb dry dusty, green streak. Medium dry with strawberry fruit. Better fruit on the palate than the nose would suggest. Mona really liked this one, I'm less enamored.

I always want something more out of a Pinot and never personally get it. It was lovely - silky, nice structure. Just not my style.
I did let it sit open for an hour before drinking and had a little left the second day. I think it almost tasted better on day 2.
