Tremendous wine. Cellar Tracker, why oh why are your drinking windows so conservative? Perfectly balanced, this wine has quince, capsicum, on the nose beautiful forward palate of fruit and balanced acidity, long and lingering mid palate with quince, capsicum, and dried blueberry, with a loooooooong and satisfying finish that starts with fruit, turns to white pepper, and becomes cayenne pepper. Stunning.

Well. Sadly, this is the last bottle of this wine in my cellar, and it just might be the best of the three (but we might be splitting hairs here). Really light in the glass, really light, like almost rosé light (and a bit cloudy), but an abundance of luscious aromas: Bing cherry, raspberry, rhubarb, and a smattering of earth tones. On the palate, the fruit is deep and profound, but not overbearing, incredible acidity, and a finish that lasts minutes. Several minutes. Oh my goodness, this might be the best Failla I have had. thedrunkencyclist.com

We are big fans of Failla, but our stock is dwindling, so it is a relatively rare occasion that we open a bottle. More than a decade out, this is really an amazing wine. Cloudy in the glass surprisingly, with Black cherry, earth, and verve. Whoa. On the palate still vibrant and tart, with said black cherry and spice. Incredible. thedrunkencyclist.com

One of our absolute favorite producers, located on the Silverado trail in Napa (but most of the fruit for Ehren Jordan’s wines come from Sonoma). Like the Arthur Chard, I have held on to this for a while. The tannins are fully integrated and there is plenty of black cherry left behind. I dare to say that this is new world Pinot at its best. Maybe it’s very best. Outstanding. 92-94 Points. thedrunkencyclist.com

One of my favorite ever CA pinots. Getting better as it ages. Still vibrant acidity, fruit still primary, but everything coming into more perfect balance now as it ages. This might be a 20 year wine.

Beautiful expression of strawberry, cherry and overall bright fruit. Needs about 30/45 minutes to open to get full array of fruit. Touch of earth notes gives the wine further complexity. Unfortunately, my last bottle but believe this has another 3-5 years till reaching peak due to the nice acidity/balance in the wine.

Darker, more earthy, and less cherry than I would have expected from Keefer fruit (and less "special" than I expect from Failla Jordan), but still a very nice wine to enjoy with friends.

Similar notes to last bottle, but bright red cherry fruits jumped out of the glass. Beautiful pinot, very burgundian, which is my standard. The only thing missing is a soil component or this would be world class

Very dark nose of cola, gamy black fruits, rotting leaf, brown spice and a floral topnote. There is reasonable energy on the palate with a pleasing spice box note. The finish is floral, earthy and bright. A little too heavy and flat, particularly on the nose. Hopefully this will improve in the cellar.

DAY 3. Tasted along side Fromm 2001 La Strada Clayvin and 2004 Fromm La Strada. brighter fruit off the nose here for surely. dark raspberry and haunting earth. oak shows on the nose, but not flashy. down wind from a carpenter. palate lingers with the same impression of that wind. dark and rich red fruit on the palate with a soft sweet kiss of its oak influence.

Interesting comparison because I am having it side by side Coche Dury's 2007 Bourgogne rouge.
Here, much more pronouced raspberry fruit to the nose. Delightfully pinot. Palate is rounded but not without structure, certainly the tannins stand up to the fruit character. I was thinking this was going to be a very long term ager but its drinking so well now I am not sure why anyone would wait. We will see how it develops.

Tasted this wine in an ALL 2007 California Pinot tasting and it showed very well. It is an extremely well made wine, perfectly balanced and proportional. The wine flow effortlessly across your entire palate. In the nose, I got a hint of dried herb and wood backed by an intense dark fruit. Great wine with or without food!

Popped and poured. Very bland upon initial taste. After 20 minutes in glass, wine opened up nicely. Rasberry and tart cherry with light acidity. Medium finish.

My kind of pinot. Lean, great acidity, moderate or low alcohol, great balance with fruit that won't quit.

Open for 45 minutes or so, but not decanted. Nice nose. Fruits and spices.
Fruity, with cherries and ripe strawberries. Plenty of spiciness and acidity. Very nice. Not a fruit bomb, but not austere either.
Second half of the bottle the next night was at least as good as on night one.
