A peek into 2015 Barolo (Osteria Langhe, Chicago IL): Nose: The nose is well balanced and fresh with citrus notes, pears, cherries, strawberries, meyer lemons, baked breads, roses, biscuits, and a touch of mineral tones.
Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with tart, high acidity. There is excellent balance to the feel with pears, cherries, strawberries, meyer lemons, baked breads, biscuits, and some mineral notes.
Overall: This was the perfect way to start off the evening. There's great interplay between the citrus and red fruit flavors with just a touch of lees contact to balance it all out.

From Menlo Wine Bank Picked by the girl, who’d had it before at a South Bay Tasting, in a failed wine cost-cutting gambit at our visit thereto...
Orange Nice mousse Persistent bead.
Requires a minute to settle, being a bottle of wine:
Yeasty Baguette, Stewed Strawberry-Rhubarb, and a subtle but distinct and tasty white cheddar note (one of the harbingers of oxidation) on the nose.
More dough on the palate along with a bit of damp straw, strawberry, wet clay and orange bitters on the palate. *If not well-cellared, ergo: at Retail: these necks (of this 3/18 offering) are fading out, FYI.
Some ox, a bit of heat, but we like it, and WHERE'D THAT BOTTLE DISAPPEAR TO?
Worth looking into at 40 clams, indeed. The first pour Stood up to ice. 92

March 2018 disgorgement. Pale orange. A complex and savory nose offers aromas of dried red apple, bruised pear, dried sour orange rind, fruitcake, chipped beef, huitlacoche and chalk. Medium bodied and dry on the palate, with medium+ acidity and flavors of dried red fruits, cigar tobacco, orange and minerals.

A delicious rose Champagne for the money. The nose is all about red fruits with strawberry and a hint of bread dough. The palate is similar with balanced acidity. Everything seems to be in place with this wine. Extremely enjoyable. Drink now or within 3 to 5 years.

APP: Clear, pale Salmon, M+ Int: clear sign of toast, dough. Strawberry, Raspberry, slight rose floral. Fruits are tart and slightly underripe. Palate: Dry 2, M- body, High Acid 8.5, NT, NPhB, MAlc (12.5%), M+ Int, M length. Finish of toast, dough, rose, strawberry, raspberry, touch honey. Medium fine bubble, average quantity.
Refreshing champagne rose, quality is good to very good. Just lacking a bit of concentration and length.

Truly an excellent cleanly made sparkling rose. There is lovely color, fine bead, an explosive fruit and toast nose, and great mouth feel. Works well w the extra brut touch of sugar. This was drunk on its own but would be very versatile on the table. Enjoyed on a cold rainy night, but this would be perfect on a Summer's night as well. I would say I am a fan and happy to have a 1/2 case.

I think decent champagnes are a very subjective thing. For me the acidity here is a bit too high and the fruit a little muted. There's nothing wrong with it, but it just isn't really to my taste. My "house" rosé champagne will remain the Champagne Lallier Grand Rosé Brut NV.

Started with a glass of this at Gordon Ramsey. Surprising to me, but not quite as interesting as some of the whites that we had afterwards. It's again almost a coppery style. Less fruit. But reasonably good.

Lean and very mineral, this was a touch austere on the first night, but softened, gained some weight and improved on the 2nd night. Laser precision and cut make this wine better with food than as an aperitif today. I plan to keep my hands off my bottle for a couple of years as I think this has upside.

At Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. Served as an aperitif. Light salmon, vigorous mousse and lively bead. Nose all red fruit. Mouth opens with a zing, then strawberry to the fore. Came across as off-dry for me. Creamy transition and rounded out, became more intense red fruit when paired with a pea velouté. Refreshing, great start.

70% Chardonnay, 27% Pinot noir and 3% red wine from Ambonnay. Fermented completely on oak. More mature oxidised nose, with nuts, almonds, corn, and butter. But there is plenty of fresh mineralogy. High tart acidity reminding me of unripe redcurrants. Great length and just a slight hint of salinity in the finish.

Disgorged October 2011. Pretty salmon pink. Nose of wild red berries with their leaves, ginger and a floral note. Softly effervescent, the flavors are bright but not screechy with fresh berry fruit that is framed by zesty acidity. This has mellowed since I first tasted it on release a couple of years ago and may now be enjoyed with or without food. A very nice treat! Drink now through 2017.
