Butter colored, medium bodied, complex and intriguing, this wine from this uncommon varietal is an interesting cross between the body of a full complex Chardonnay and the crispness of a Sauvignon Blanc - full essence of pear predominates with subtle melon and tropical fruits on a firm mineral finish.
Received this as part of a club shipment in late 2012. A bit disappointed as most of the reviews suggested that it was well past its prime. Indeed, I found the bright fruitiness that one might expect to be long gone. A bit sour and stale. It might have been good in its prime, but by early 2013, at best it could make a middling cooking wine.

Wow, what a nice white. This was the 1st of 4 wines enjoyed tonight. This wine was enjoyed as a pop and pour (or an unscrew and pour). Our mission was to make the two people who don't like white wine to actually LIKE a white wine. Mission accomplished. This wine was straight up creme brulee, mineral, pear, and a hint of pineapple around a TON of spice on the finish. I was extremely surprised by the amount of spice on the finish here. Almost like a green pepper or almost a jalapeno finish. NICE. There was no oak barrel finish - no obnoxious butter or burned butter. I felt that this one could have competed with a lot of chardonnays that I have had in the past, but it just didn't have that level of complexity. The wine was surely balanced. I will see if I can acquire a case o 2010, but this 2008 is still going strong. This wine was enjoyed with goat cheese stuffed peppers and some pico salsa. Beautiful wine. I wish I had another half case of this!!
Straw with hints of moss green. Nice, viscous appearance.
Salty seawater, complex flinty minerality, a number of floral aromas (not unlike potpourri), cashew, mineral oil, a little pineapple, novel white stone fruit, asian pear, and buttery, custard-like notes. The nose is not unlike some higher end California Chardonnays.
Nice citrusy undertones, more custard, salty seaweed, a little pineapple, and something exotic I can't put my finger on (someone else suggested goji berry, but I've never tasted it before). Slightly sweet with an initial pineapple and lemon flavor that is enhanced by beautiful acidity and a massive presence on the mid-palate. Incredibly creamy and full-bodied, nutty and creamy flavors dominate, like cashew butter, butter, and a hint of mineral oil, which flow into the finish and meet back up with a little pineapple.
The alcohol is pretty well integrated despite being 15.5% ABV, though there is a little burn on the tongue. Overall, a much better experience than the last Mollydooker that I had. I would certainly buy this again.

Very lovely tropical fruit with melon (cantaloupe), peaches, nectarine, pineapple with a touch of lemon that provided a rich moutful of round fruit. Excellent balance with nice long fruit finish with enough acid to keep it from becoming too sweet. Reminded me of Marsanne/roussanne blend from Santa Barbara as it seemed more fruity than a typical Rhone style. Very popular with our guests who all loved it.

enjoyed it quite a bit, I agree with earlier commentary that this feels like a cross between Chardonnay and Sauv Blanc. Has the citrus and honey flavors of a Sauv, but with some more of the richness and butteriness I associate with Chard.

Pop & Pour. My first Mollydooker, and I was very pleasantly surprised. The nose is an explosion of tropical fruits as others have described, really too many to describe. The palate was mellow tropical fruit that was very smooth and balanced with wonderful acidity.

In the glass this wine is a deep greenish yellow gemstone color, with great clarity and a thick viscosity. The nose is very impressive and it’s full of green fruits, fresh leaves, and intense minerals. I get a mix of lime, cucumber, mint, and sea stone all at once with a little bit of gooseberry and Asian pear, as well as something that is vaguely custard-like. The palate opens with sweet gooseberry jelly, a very faint touch of jasmine, some limestone and a little white pepper. Then I pick up on some Goji berry, a little lime oil and some lemon curd. The finish is complex with floral tones, something that makes me think of the leaves on a raspberry plant, and a spritz of lemon on stone. Really well done with gripping acidity that catches your attention right away, holds it all the way through, and leaves your palate watering for more. This wine also has a very interesting transition from an initial delicate floral and sweet fruit entrance to a sea stone and mineral finish. Great intensity with perfect balance and an excellent combination of spritz and smoothness. This stuff totally impressed me, and I think that it really shows what this varietal is capable of, and for the price, the quality is through the roof. There are a million reasons to try this wine (the varietal, the producer, the place, this review ???); if you get the chance don’t pass it up. This is definately a wine worth buying.

Explosive Rhone-y nose with ripe cantaloupe, peaches, lime, pineapples, bananas and other tropical fruit. Equally explosive on the palate, echoing those flavors. Big body, with a nice acidity that really saves this. I'd guess this blind to be a Marsanne/Roussanne Rhone blend. There's a bitterness here, similar to what I often get on a white Rhone, and it pulls off a few points here. But for a 15.5% alcohol white, the heat is not completely overbearing, and it's not at all sweet or oaky. Hedonistic, but delicious. Nice white for the winter months. $25

Other Reds and Whites (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had honey, cantaloupe, cinnamon, and some floral notes at the end. The palate rich and creamy, and had peach, melon, spice, and a slight honey finish.

Bright, crisp wine with clean fruit flavors that linger nicely. I tasted lime, stone, melon, and mango, with the lime and stone dominating. Consistent impression over 3 different tastings.

Nice tropical fruit on the nose, carambola and banana. Soft flavors on the palate, and a decent finish. Nice all the way through, but it has a LOT of alcohol: too much for the chipotle-spiced chicken soup we ate with it.

tasted at wine dinner at akbar in LA. some surprising minerality and stone on nose. loads of sugar cane, some acidity, nice weight, a little hot and fake sweet. length of fruit is significant and delicious.
