Deep and rich earthy and barnyard notes. Ample oak gives this wine a wonderful finish reminiscent of coconut cream pie. Wonderful aromas and flavors of cherries and white pepper abound. Good acidity and fruit despite the age on this bottle. Absolutely fantastic wine.

Fully mature showing lovely plum and cherry notes with leather and herbal undertones. Very silky and elegant - a different animal than it was in its youth.

this wine had more of a cab feel than a syrah. the tannins were still very strong, but did weaken with air time. nose was a combination of dark and light red fruits with some earthy tones at the end. a nice wine, but doubt i will purchase more.

Chicago Weekend; 7/28/2006-7/31/2006 (Chicago): Much more mellow than last tasting in 2003. Lean black cherry and plum, with slight herbal streak. Still elegant, aromatic and pleasurable. Definitely a drink now ine.

($30) Mom's 54th birthday: This wine is a bit of puzzle to me. Larry loves it, but I tend to find it pleasant, a bit overly oaked, and the grape flavors muddied due to the blending choice. Okay, but not something I want to drink often.

Very refined. Was worried it was past prime but now I just wish I had more of this vintage. Great fruit flavors, very elegant. Time to drink is now.
