Opened and poured immediately with aerator. Strong, classic cigar box and cedar nose. Leathery, chewy. Taste became much smoother over time. All in all, it was a great bottle that still had a lot of its original character. Like Sean Connery as James Bond - still a classic.

Ifune in NYC (Frankie & Johnnie's Steakhouse, NYC): A nice, elegant, restrained, svelte Cabernet, but definitely mature, with copious secondary notes. Medium bodied, with nice dried floral notes on the finish.

Still in great shape even if already showing some signs of decline. The nose has just a whiff of oxidation amidst leather, tobacco, underwood. On the palates he same underwood, tobacco, ground coffee, very elegant. A nice afternoon drink.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL): Tasted double blind. charming mature black fruit, some tobacco and leather aromas. Like most tasters today, I immediately thought this from Bordeaux. Elegant and mature lack fruit flavors are well balanced with earthy elements.

Tasting of 11 Caymus Cabernet Sauvignons. With a big, rich, slightly closed nose, medium fruit and soft tannin in the mouth, slightly stemy but good, long finish. My #6 and Group tie #3.

1975-1984 CAYMUS ESTATE VINTAGE TASTING (Walnut Creek, Ca.): Nice, berry fruit, older cabernet nose, more powerful than the 19755, big body, lovely nose and taste, hint of candy, luscious, good acid, pleasant, long finish.
