  • Had as the day 3 bottle during a Sta Rita Hills binge. Nice dark garnet color which goes with the taste of cherries, strawberries and rasberry. Had just a hint of spice during the long finish. Opened 20 minutes before but it really needed a 60+ minute decant as it opened up nicely for the second glass. It is drinking well right now but as it usually the case with Sea Smoke, 18+ months more in the bottle and it will be truly. Will probably try it again in mid-2025 as have older vintages ahead of it.

  • Medium, reddish garnet in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of red cherries, strawberries & raspberries with overtones of floral & spice notes of cloves & cinnamon, earthy/dusty, herbs, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla notes in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, plush, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & pomegranate with spices, cola, minerals, herbs and a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with extending airing but has the structure to continue developing with several more years of additional aging at which time I anticipate a higher score (94+).
