Magenta colour, spicy nose. Looks great in the glass and has the spicy palate with some cherry tones that previous reviewers have mentioned, but is a much lighter expression of this wine than previous vintages.

fruit driven, red and dark berries, Grenache dominating, moderate spices, liquorice and chocolate, good depth in the fruity core, light and soft tannins, m+ body, it's balanced and elegant with rich flavours. it's well developed and very accessible now.

Medium light magenta. Lovely straberrries and toffees on the nose. Great balance but quite a short finish. Confectionary wine and a crowd pleaser. A nice drop - a lighter than normal vintage?

This wine highlights the suitability of Grenache, Mataro and Shiraz to some of the driest regions in the Barossa. The fruit is forked into the 1880’s wooden Bagshaw de-stemmer before fermenting in open slate tanks. The 1890’s Robinson Basket Press slowly squeezes the remaining juice from the grapes, before the individual components are left to mature in seasoned oak casks. When the final blend comes together, layers of soft, savoury, spicy flavours are emerging and will continue to develop with a handful more years in bottle.

Mid ruby colour. Medium bodied. Light tannins. Grenache evident. Not my favourite South Australian GSM in style but a nice lighter version of this.
