Umiddelbart efter åbning og dekantering var frugtsyren meget voldsom. Men efter en halv times tid fandt den en god balance. Fin middel frugt, fin bitterhed, og et let udtryk. God afveksling fra de mere fyldige vine.

Easy drinking, light cherries with a rustic, herbal finish. Hit the spot with ground beef and red sauce. $28 / bottle- liking this at an A (94) level for a restaurant / wine bar bottle purchase- food friendly lighter style wine that definitely offers value.

Very clean, fairly light-bodied, very dry with good balance of fruit and earth/mineral aromas and flavors. Italian character is present. Interesting and enjoyable. Seems a little young yet, but certainly no problem enjoying this now with a variety of dishes.

Clean and pure. No obtrusive wood. Very dry, absolutely no hint of sweetness. Cherry tea-like. Good balance. Medium-bodied, but with good depth. Picked up some weight on the second evening. A little tart. Interesting wine and a good QPR at < $20.

Grab Bag Samples: Gorgeous cherry color. Wow, beautiful depth of fruit (red cherry, cranberry, wild raspberry), along with rose petals, chewing tobacco, mint, white pepper. Medium-bodied with nice grip to the tannins, fresh acidity, and lots of tart black and red fruits. Complex elements of leather, spiced coffee, rose petals, chewing tobacco and clove.

This is just plain yummy. Nothing fancy or complex but it is just what it should be - a fresh mouthful of nerello mascalese. It has a lively nose of cherry and cloves. A bit of menthol. In the mouth it is light-bodied, vibrant acidity carrying the bright pie cherry, dust and menthol. Snappy and bright and so quaffable. On a cool early-fall evening it went perfectly with a great from-scratch chicken noodle soup. High QPR. I'm buying more of this. The only weakness is a finish that thins out, but who cares - it just means you need to take the next mouthful really soon. Another bottle - and I'm not as smitten. At first it was flat with a bit of silage taste. Not good. Next day was better, but still not as high as the first one. Third bottle? Maybe.

Russk. Solid Nerello Mascalese for a decent price under $20. A bit tart. Aromatics not that interesting. Bought from ABC.

Bright red fruits, peppercorns, rust, and minerals. The wine strikes a harmonious balance of fruit, earth, acid, and tannin. Delicious!
