Really solid red blend. More subtle and restrained than some California counterparts. Cassis, floral notes. Nicely balanced and drinking really well right now.

Darker than some vintages, with black cherry more than berry influence. The acid balance tends lower, but doesn't get to jammy. Tannins are fine and well integrated, and the finish is long and lovely. Good vintage!

Tasted after 2 hours of air. I always thought this was a qualifiable decent red wine from Washington. Not today. This was drinking great. Tasted against 3 other heavy weights from Washington and this came out on top. In a perfect drinking window. Light floral on the nose. Tangy sweet red berry currents. Nice spice. Very interesting mid palate. Medium long finish. Very nice.

No tertiary development, but in a great place. Last glass 4 hours after opening is the best, integrated, open and no concern of fading. Give plenty of time upon opening.

Very intense note of plum, blackberry, tobacco and condensed milk. Silky texture, mid acidity with nice tannin and oak touch. After 1 hour of breathing this became easily drinkable. Think it’s hard to dislike. Great qpr.

The 2017 D2 is drinking beautifully tonight. This is, yet again, another amazing value in Bordeaux varieties from Washington state that blows other domestic wines in it's price point out of the water! This Merlot heavy blend (yes, Merlot!!!!) displays a gorgeous bouquet of medicinal blackberry, mentholated herbs, tobacco and cedary spice. While its textures are silky, pure elegance on the palate, it boasts a core of tantalizing acidity the excites the senses--making it great both at and away from the dinner table. Spiced cherries, mint and violet inner florals cascades throughout, as the 2017 finishes spicy and only lightly structured. Frankly, i can't imagine anything else I'd rather be drinking right now, as this embodies the elegance and shear drinkability of 2017 WA wine. Well done.
The focus here is on the fruit, ripe and expressive. Wood present but not intrusive and well integrated. This is bright and vibrant, displaying fruit driven authority in a light and subdued style. I find this bottle great value for the money.

Feels pretty rough around the edges for the price, but I think it's just not my flavor profile. Another year or two and the tannins will be smooth as butter.

this wine requires more cellar time too much new world fruit too much oak too much alcohol and worst of all no integration whatsoever so overall a disappointing hot mess I have always liked this producer in the past so will say a prayer that things improve with time
Nice. Lots of upfront red berry fruit. A touch sweet. Some mocha/coffee notes. Decent amount of tannins, but not overly so. Nice wine for the price. Definitely several years left but not sure it needs more time. Drinking well now.

Revisiting Washington (Woodinville): Super baby - this taste came from the tank. Bottling happening soon. This was really nice though. Surprised me a bit how much I liked it. It's more balanced than I would have expected. Good fruit, but good freshness here too. Lots of blackberry and darker notes.

#63 of Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2020.
