  • One hour slow ox. Tart cinnamon-laden black cherry cobbler, dried fig, leather, and mushroom. Smooth, dry, full bodied palate, with lingering, satiny acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

  • Why am I so low in the score...ok, I'll just agree with everyone else, except on scoring. Most of the other notes have mentioned the aromas and palate character of the wine (I agree) but the slightly elevated acidity and tannins (maybe more aging)...ok as I write this I am changing score from 89 to 90.

  • 90 min decant. Deep dark ruby magenta color. Blackberry, stewed black cherry, freesia, fudge, saltine cracker, and mushroom on the nose. Smooth, dry, full bodied palate, with pillowy acidity. Soft, round tannins on the longish finish.

This is drinking very nicely, but my wife thought it was too rich and thick. For me, it could have used more acid and tannins to sharpen things up.

  • Deep and dark purple in the glass, nose of blue and black fruits, and plenty of red and blue fruit on the palate. I am very mediocre at blind tasting, but I’d call this a Napa cab all day. Really enjoyable. We poured in a decanter, then poured our glasses, and it was fantastic. Not overly complex or tertiary, and certainly all primary fruit flavors, but super tasty, and a great crowd pleasing wine, without being overly sweet or extracted. So while not a caymus or close to it, maybe a wine drinker’s typical fruity Napa cab - which I love. I’m glad I have one more, plus a 2016 on the way. I think this winery makes a top 10 rose from California (100% cab rose) and has good Sauv Blanc, and now I am a fan of their cab. I’m looking forward to following along as they replant and start over with their estate vines.

  • Gifted this by Agelvis a while back......spent the evening with HMC here and as he poured a couple of bottles, I opened this one.

At the pnp, a tad thin, red fruited, well-made but rather indistinct. Hours 2-3 were a different story altogether. Heavier, thicker in the glass.....darker red, black cherry fruit. Light on its feet yet powerful at the same time. Tannins are integrating very well. Some cassis and slight graphite emerge. I am amazed at how well this bottle plays out over time with air. Very nice! Ty, J!

I don't know what LPB was drinking that day when she reviewed it, but this is NOT an 87 point cab, no way, no how.

  • Two hour decant. Deep dark, slightly hazy, ruby magenta color. Blackberry, truffle-infused chocolate, prune, and subtle wild blueberry on the nose. Smooth, modestly tongue drying palate, with soft acidity. Firm, somewhat raw tannins on the longish finish.

  • Popped and poured over 2 hours, big and bold nose of cassis, blackberry, and black cherry. Flavors are similar, tannins are noticeable and what I envision people describing as “dusty” but did recede at the end. Low acid and a long finish. This is a very nice Napa cab, very big and bold and will probably only appeal to a new world palate, slight evolution to red fruits over time with cherry coming out.

  • Quick decant in the glass. Deep opaque cranberry. Nose of maple, cedar, black cherry and necco wafer. Nice full flavor than leans more to fruit flavors and is sweeter than the nose. Sweet on the entry with some licorice notes then turning acidic before finishing with some nice tannic dryness. Has a little bit of effervescence on the finish too. Nice mouthfeel. Medium plus body. About 92-93.

  • Black cherry, milk chocolate and weak black coffee. Moderately creamy with satiny tannins. Long finish with lingering baking spice. All the elements are knitted together so well.

  • Overall impression is creamy milk chocolate drops filled with raspberry jam. Some oak spice and vanilla background notes. Fine tannins. Nose of dark cherry and a touch of old leather. Will age well but drinks great at the moment.

  • Two hour decant. Nearly opaque magenta color. Sweet raspberry, milk chocolate, gardenia, pomegranate, black cherry, subtle clove and fennel on the complex nose. Very smooth dry palate, with soft, lingering acidity. There is a solid fruit core on the mid-palate. Full tannins on the longish finish. 97% CS and 3% PV

  • Great wine that benefits from a 3+ hour decant. Tight PnP. After opening, nice dark cherry on nose. Dark cherry remains on palate with hint of licorice and milk chocolate for longish finish. Tannins are pretty smooth already but still give good structure in the mouth. I really like this wine and punches well above its price.

  • Four hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Boysenberry, blackberry, toasted almonds, vanilla-laced woodsy perfume, wintergreen and maple syrup on the vibrant nose. Very smooth, fruit forward palate, with mouth filling acidity. Firm, full, albeit lower intensity tannins on the longish finish. This is a beautiful drinker, but my wife felt the nose was too oaked and sweet (i.e. Caymus-esque).

  • Two hour decant. Very deep dark magenta color. Date, leather, blueberry, shortbread and lilac on the elegant nose. Very smooth, mouth filling palate, with fine acidity. Full, round tannins on the medium long finish. Beautiful new wine for me.
