Everything was in balance with a solid fruit foundation that was well integrated with the tannins and acid. Pleasant finish!

  • Excellent bottle and the best I have tasted from Lede. Tasted side by side with a 1999 Pride and this got a slight edge. Everything was in balance with a solid fruit foundation that was well integrated with the tannins and acid. Pleasant finish but with just a little edge.

  • Nice color, a bit lighter than typical Cab. Pleasant nose of currant, and spice. Not quite heavy bodied but still a significant mouth feel. The oak is very well integrated and nicely complements the other features of the wine. The wines weakest point is the finish, not as smooth as one would expect on the front end. Would probably not buy again at the price point, there is serious competition in this price range.

  • Consistent with previous note, but this one had a little heat on the back end that I previously did not pick up. My father-in-law thought it was tannic, but not to my taste. A rich, lush style.

  • Popped and poured. First pour the nose was awesome, explosive currant, dark fruit with a hint of herbs. First taste was rich and deep with plum, current and blackberry flavors, typical depth & richness for Cliff Lede. BUT..instead of improving with time, the wheels have fallen off of this one a bit. The nose has quieted and the flavors have lost some of their depth and intensity. An herbal flavor has started to take be as prominendt as the blackberry, plum and currant fruit. The suave texture has thinned a bit and some slightly chalky tannins have emerged. Finishes with with grip of the chalky tannins and an herbal, weedy edge. Still, all in all, a nice wine, but not the typical Cliff Lede I've come to expect.

  • Napa Winery Tour (Larkmead, Cliff Lede, Neal, Ladera, Etude & more): Big dark fruit flavors, with black cherry and plum the most prominent, with a long 40 second finish highlighted by vanilla from its oak treatment. Very well done.

  • Deep garnet color leads to a nose of violet, currant, and sage. The wine is medium bodied with flavors of more currant, violet, black cherry, and plum. The oak treatment is well integrated in no way awkward. The finish is long (45 seconds). I found this very enjoyable, but I am a sucker for stagecoach vineyard cabs. Would buy again at $50 pricepoint.

  • Consistent with prior tasting. This is a rich, concentrated cab that has intense fruit and black colors. Big Blackberry, currant, black cherry held together by young, firm tannins. Long, fleshy finish.

  • The biggest of the three cabs tasted today. Intense, rich, concentrated fruit. Nearly black in color. Blackberry, currant, black cherry held together by young, firm tannins. This is a big wine with a very fleshy mouthfeel. Tannins need a little time to settle. Finish is long, if not a bit dry.
