Drinking well right now, with bright cherry on the palate and good acidity. The tannins are well aged. Fair amount of precipitate so consider decanting first. The will age well until 2028.

Decanted for over 2 hours. Aroma: very floral, herbal notes, eucalyptus and black cherries. Palate: raspberries, cherries, grippy tannins, high acidity with a short to medium finish. Paired it with Beecher’s Flagship white cheddar which softened the tannins a tad and made the wine more approachable. This is very Burgundian for a new world wine as this is better paired with food rather than a drink alone wine. Seems young and worth cellaring for another 3+ years. Day 2, paired with a creamy Italian pork sausage and red bell pepper pasta. It softened the tannins a lot and made it more drinkable. It’s more complex and definitely a good food pairing wine. 88

Deep ruby with a generous clear edge and moderately fast legs. The aromas evolved over a couple of hours, starting with simple red and black fruits, then developing hints of sandalwood, tobacco, anise, and on to sous bois and forest funk. Very restrained fruits, grippy tannins, and acid in balance with the latter. A beautiful conjugation of France and Oregon (most definitely not a California wine), and a fitting companion to complex dishes and occasions where contemplation is on the menu.

Well, my wife did not like it so I opened a 2017 Lavinea, this wine is a bit thin, alcohol is noticeable, good bouquet, acid and wood, must say that DDO wines have not aged well, last bottle so on to another vintage, drank with Chinese magret of duck, bok choy, fried rice, spring rolls and dumplings. Day 2 wine mellowed but it had a candied taste which was not endearing, cooking wine.

Pnp, perfect cork and level, ruby, denser than usual for Burgundy, little rim development; attractive if relatively straightforward cherry fruit driven bouquet with a touch of raspberry and earth notes, ripe; medium full, quite long and persistent, sweetish if simple core, happily not over-extracted, correct rather than exciting, silky, scope to improve. This deep ruby wine offers aromas and flavors of ripe raspberries and cherries, accented with notes of clove, black tea, bramble leaf and sassafras. Medium-bodied and with low-to-medium acidity, it wraps its flavors with relatively soft tannins, restrained oak and silent alcohol (listed as 14.1%). Unfortunately, it thins out dramatically on the middle palate and concludes with a short finish that lacks vibrancy. Being a fan of Drouhin's Oregon operation, I am at a loss for what went wrong here. Drink now-2022.

Loved this. Cherry on the nose. Palate has cherry, raspberry reduction, and hint of pomegranate. There’s a cool polish on the midpalate that really appeals to me, very much glides across the palate. Finishes with medium drying tannins.

Willamette Valley May 2019; 5/17/2019-5/18/2019: Yeah, I know it's their "basic" wine but man this was good. Beautiful on nose. Rose, pepper, cherry, earth. On palate, tannins have started to soften, with smoke and mineral. Just lovely.

Fleshy, yummy, plump juice delivering otherwise typical (in a positive way) pinot noir experience. More sour than caramel from an entry level pinot -- which I like.
After hearing so much about this producer, I'd consider it a gateway drug to the barrel select Drouhins if I could get my hands on them.

Nice fruit forward style. Bramble, bright red ripe cherry fruit, with smokiness, some spices, and an herbal note. Lingering leather on the finish. I bet this would age for a bit, but it's drinking very well right now. Good complexity.

dark burgundy in color. the nose on this wine shows cherry and strawberry and is somewhat closed at this point. this is a hefty pinot with excellent fruit extraction and ripeness (not over_ripeness). the palate explodes with a mix of red fruit including cherry, red plum, red raspberry, and some earthiness. this tastes like a burgundy! the fine grained tannins are already approachable. that said this wine will age wonderfully for the next 10 years at least. it's hard not to call this wine "delicious". one of the better pinots that I have had from Oregon. the riper 2015 and 2016 vintages have resulted in wines without that "oregon cranberry" flavor that I don't care for. the flavor profile here is sublime. I will stock up on this wine!

Dark cherries and cola on the nose, the palate was full of red ripe red fruit like strawberries and crushed cranberries, liquorice, black tea and vanilla. The palate and tannins were soft, this is very much a fruit forward pinot, lacking a little complexity on the finish.

Bright red edges with a dark core; upon opening, intense fragrances of cherry, strawberry and plum; on the palate, added notes of spice, mint and citrus; mouth-watering acidity and complex flavors, with structure and dilineation, capped by tannins that grew more prominent with air. Long, savory finish with a lingering sweetness. An irresistible wine today which should nevertheless not be opened until 2020 at the earliest.

Nicely perfumed nose. Medium body. Very young and primary. Flavors of blackberry, cranberry, licorice, and plum. A touch of alcohol heat at 14.1%abv. But, still a well balanced wine that is not a fruit bomb and has a pronounced acidity and noticle tannins. Very Burgundian. Needs time. I'd revisit in 2020.

Dark-fruit sweetness but also dark-fruit tartness, with some lingering herbs on the first day and some sweet, warm medicinal character on the second. While not stewed or overly ripe or sweet, there is a warm but contained alcoholic quality. Label says 14.1. Interested to try this wine in a lower alcohol vintage. Smooth, warm pinot.

Pop and pour. Obviously made to drink young with black cherry cola, candied raspberry and cough syrup up front. Still some freshness is added by an almost bloody iron note. Nice entry level wine but $35 plus might be pushing it.

Each tine I drink this wine I like it more and more. Garnet red, with some translucence, but darker than a lot of Pinots. Nose is a Coca Cola black tea com inaction. Palate has some sweet red fruit up front and black cherry on the finish. Finish is long, light tannins, some acidity, pretty balanced.

Well made Pinot, but a bit underwhelming at a $40 price point. Varietally correct, with an enjoyable nose (red fruit, rose petal, earth, crushed stone) but too simple and one dimensional on the palate. Drink at cellar temp or else alcohol gets a bit intrusive. May improve in a couple of yrs. Has a good structure (both tannins and acidity) that suggests some aging potential.

Tried this at the winery a few days ago. A very solid if somewhat pricey estate wine. Very elegant and restrained, still young of course, but I liked the tannins at the end that suggest a great future. Perhaps a tad more concentration would help, but overall this is a very nice pinot whose best years lay ahead. I'd be in the 90-91 range now with some air (A-).

Tasted at the winery. Medium ruby colored, the wine has a nose of strawberry and spice, but is a little closed and in need of air to better open. It has medium+ tannin and high acidity. The palate is big and complex with cherry, strawberry and earthy spicy notes that seem quite likely to age very well and improve markedly with time in bottle.

Steely and edgy - because I think it's too young. Letting it sit in the glass for 30 minutes brought out the cherry and black tea flavors and it balanced nicely, though not fully. It paired nicely with charcuterie, as well, but wait a little bit, folks.

This is not my style at all - sweet red cherry dominated, felt like it moved into the candied cherry taste. Consistent notes over 2 nights. "Won" this in a wine grab.

Medium red with reflections of ruby. A forward and quite primary nose offers fresh red cherry, raspberry and candied cranberry aromas alongside notes of sous bois and hints of toast. Medium bodied and seamless on the palate but lifted by medium+ acidity and very fine tannins. Easy to like.
