1st of 18, decanted two hours, perfect cork and level - dark, quite dense, glossy ruby, youthful rim; plum and black cherry, some mineral and vanilla, attractive but little layering; fullish, long, more persistence, very concentrated, notably sweet mid palate, monolithic and dense, grip though, very much at on the fruit stage, my guess particularly looking at others' notes is that my bottles simply are not yet sufficiently mature, much upside, 25+ years. A perhaps cautious F+ (18).

1st of 6, decanted an hour, perfect cork and level - pale yellow, youthful, leggy; lemon, stone, pear, clean and pure, some chalk and tropical fruit elements started to emerge at end of bottle; medium bodied, ok length and persistence, initially a bit thin and acidic though inherent power evident, put on weight and moved from simple to showing surprising class and greater complexity with sharp and slightly sour edged lemon more to lemon curd, clean and well made, clear upside, 8+ years. VG at start rising to F (17.5) towards end of bottle, marking based on final glass..........my first bottle from this climat risked based on chance of a good bottle from this tucked away site in a hot year and based on my regard for Rapet's excellent Corton Charlemagne; my sense is that this wine is very much in the style of his CC if with less good material (no surprise there) and perhaps without CC's steely edge.

18th of 24, opened an hour then decanted an hour, perfect cork and level, unchanged from last bottle in Oct 18, youthful rim, beautifully layered and quite aristocratic, classy and classical if retaining a certain angularity and edge very characteristic of vintage as if an element of the fruit in the assemblage was under-ripe, if it were rounder and with the volume of a better vintage, this would merit a higher score, limited upside now, 20+ years. F (17.5).
