2 coravin pours with dinner. Opaque dark garnet color, turning dense dark crimson with air. Nose is pretty typical Cali Cab. Rich ripe fruit with vanilla, leather and tobacco. Some florals soar overtop. Palate is softer and quite elegant considering how powerful and intense it looked. Both red and black fruit including black cherry, plum, black raspberry and cassis. Tannins quite controlled. Soft and pretty easy drinking. Finish is long with some earthy licorice elements. Great with grilled teriyaki flank steak. Seemed both younger and older than its 10 years with intense fresh fruit and yet an inner softness more indicative of age. Nicely balanced.
P.s. Had the balance of the bottle with grilled salmon, it paired nicely. Again this was soft and moderately rich with black berries, vanilla and leather. Pleasant and easy to drink.

Was a big hit with close friends over for dinner (seared lamb kabobs, potatoes, and zucchini - all off the grill). Drank out of magnum. Decanted 3 hours ahead and opened up nicely. Strong vintage for Jordan. Will likely be best over the next five years (2024-2028). Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

Opened and decanted an hour ahead of seared flank steak, chicken, and veggie sides. Dark crimson color with a violet hue. The nose brings creme de cassis, blackcurrant, cherry blossoms, mint, and whiffs of tobacco. The palate is medium-full, round, textured, and smooth, bringing a wave of blackberries, blueberries, plums, hot chocolate, and coffee mocha with a high-beam core of red fruit - red cherries and raspberries - that flows into a refined, supple finish. This should drink well 2022-2028. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 94.

Cigars, leather, unsweetened chocolate, and dark fruits. Alcohol amount is perfect for the style. Definitely more similar to Bordeaux than most modern cabs. Seems to be close to peak, and should be good for many more years.

Tasted from magnum at the winery, Jordan's 2013 offering is a deep ruby blend of 75.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15.5% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 1.5% Malbec and 0.5% Cabernet Franc that was aged for 12 months in a combination of French (83%) and American (17%) oak. Overall, 43% of the oak was new, with the large majority of the new oak barrels being French. Flaunting an aromatic profile of black currants, dark plums, bittersweet chocolate, espresso and pipe tobacco, it is a medium-to-full-bodied red with good acidity, well-integrated alcohol (13.8%), plentiful silky-textured tannins and a judicious amount of spicy oak. The flavors mirror the note, adding notes of coriander and licorice. Solid on the mid-palate and medium-to-long on the back end, this is a delightful, well-balanced Cab that (at least from magnum) should easily reach its twentieth birthday. Enjoy it any time between now and then. Drink now-2033.

Decanted for 45 minutes. Dark fruit and spice. Very similar to the 2012. Well-balanced with medium tannins. Good mouthfeel and medium finish. Not for those who want a really big Napa cab, but if you enjoy a smooth, balanced cab, this is for you.

Nose of black cherry, blackberry, and a touch of cigar box and sage, same on the palate, big body, very tasty, this wine ages easily as I tasted the 1978 vintage recently, at its peak drinking and will easily hold for 8 years, mouth filling fruit, delicious, rich, almost elegant, and a flavorful, long finish. Photo uploaded.

Went with a pop, a two hour wait, then a pour. Aromas of light berry, cherry and current, emerged. It is a good Cabernet, just not your typical California Cabernet. As previous reviewers have stated this wine leans towards the French style of Cabernet. Comes across the palate light but still has a very pleasant bite. The finish is smooth and very pleasant. This wine went great with dinner and will definitely be a crowd pleasing wine. May go another 3 to 5 more years but is quite drinkable as it sits currently.

Much lighter than most Cabs but still has some strong fruit flavors. Getting chocolate covered dar berries. Not much of a finish. I'd say for an everyday drinker this would be fine, but for $60 there are so many better options out there. Not a wine that I would seek out at all.

French style. Food friendly, but rich enough to drink without food. Dark fruits. Medium to full body, but more feminine than masculine. Medium tannins. Well balanced. Elegant. Interestingly this Cabernet Sauvignon label apparently also includes Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. Very similar to relatively young Left Bank Bordeaux, with a touch of St. Emilion. Solid wine. Drink with steak.

Lovely, soft and very mature Alexander Valley cab that is really a good QPR wine at our acquisition price. Dark purple, nose more intense then the palate with balanced oak, plum, violet and tar and classic soft balanced palate of oak, cassis, blueberry and some earth and smoke on the late palate. Acid and tannins now very soft and fading. Moderately length aftertaste. Highly recommend this wine and with proper cellaring I expect that this will have an additional 2-3 years of peak performance but at this point the remaining bottles should be in the drinking rotation.

Decanted. Clear, deep-garnet color. Pleasing aromatics, moderate intensity, showing red currant, star anise, paprika, cracked rainbow pepper, tobacco and leather. Generous fruit on the attack, growing a little darker with currant and cassis, with secondary layers consistent with the nose. Medium-bodied elegance, with rich middle layers, nice acidity brightening the corners, and fine fleshy tannins and moderate length on the finish. Drinking very well - drink/hold.

Poured 30 mins prior to drinking. Bright fruits on the nose of blackberry, black cherry and cassis, secondary aromas of violet, vanilla, and a hint of baking spice. Full body with medium + tannins and that are well integrated with dark fresh fruit flavors. Hiding behind the fruit is a bit of graphite monirality that adds to nice long finish. Might be better in a year or two but excellent quality wine that tastes wonderful today!

Beautiful purple Cabernet color. On the nose there were notes of dark red fruit, little rim variation. On the palate I found notes of ripe cherry pie and blueberry with layers of vanilla, dill and fresh lavender? The wine is well balanced but could do with an extra year to help balance out the tannins. Overall a good Sonoma Cab.

BTG restaurant purchase enjoyed with grilled lamb chops. Clear, medium ruby. Developing aromas with medium plus nose of black and red cherry, black plum, blackberry, and some blueberry underpinned with some vanilla, cedar, and earthiness. Palate is dry. Medium flavors of ripe blackberry, some sweet mixed cherries, tart blueberry, and juicy plum. Cedar, bell pepper, and loamy earthiness are slightly noticeable, but the primary fruits are definitely in the forefront. Alcohol is medium, and body is medium plus. Medium, sweet tannins and medium plus acidity support a medium plus finish. This is a very good wine with nice balance and style, fairly good length, and very good intensity. Complexity is still a work in progress. Can drink now, but may be suitable for further aging.

Tasted this head-to-head with a 2013 St. Julien. Same soil (gravel-alluvial), similar terroir (Alexander Valley being a bit warmer than Bordeaux). You can recognize this on the first sip – sweet strawberries, blueberries and Flavor King plums come into focus with the baking spices tucked nicely under this fruit blanket. “Smooth” is an excellent adjective to use here, so if you love your steak and you love a serious wine that won’t put you into a coma, the Jordan is the way to go. All day, every day.

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Sue's): I detected a slight hint of TCA in the nose and on the palate but others weren't so sure. A surprise to see this unveiled, as everyone agreed that it should have shown very differently than it did- I'll maintain low-level TCA taint.

Popped and poured at City Oyster in Delray Beach. Medium garnet red. Nice nose of mostly dark berries and alcohol. Flavors are similar with some grassy herbaceous notes on the finish. Medium bodied (lighter than most of its Napa and Sonoma peers). Medium tannins and acidity. Nice wine but no "wow" factor and nothing that distinguishes it from the typical "good" Napa/Sonoma cab.
Buncha samples (mostly California): Rich purple color. Aromas of tart black cherries and currants, loamy soil, graphite, charcoal, spiced coffee and eucalyptus. Full-bodied with silky but structured tannins and refreshing acidity that keeps the wine bright despite the rich black currant and dark plum fruit. Notes of incense sticks, roasted coffee, black tea mix with toasted nuts, vanilla and cedar elements. Packed with flavor and fruit but shows significant complexity and freshness. Ready to go but should age nicely for 3-5. Includes some Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc, this wine is aged we months in a mix of French and American oak.

MW Institute 2013 American Cabernet Tasting, nose of dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry, touch of cigar box and freshly sliced green bell pepper, same on the palate, medium body compared to it's peers today, touch simple, tasty, great food wine, this wine ages easily as I have enjoyed it back to the 1978 vintage, needs 2 years to peak and will probably merit a higher score of 1 to 2 points, medium/long finish.

A truely well balanced Napa Cab.
Loaded with fruits and typical Napa sweetness,
but the spot-on acidity keep everything in great balance.
Got a bit of orange peel impression along with other red and blue fruits.
Constantly evolving and changing in the glass at this point,
this wine surely will be even much better with some more cellaring time.
A very fine Napa wine.

Popped and poured at the United Club. Black plum and liqueur with sweet spice. Good weight and depth balances the fatness and richness nicely.

Nice wine - soft, easy to drink. Light berry flavors, no real oak flavor . Some complexity but not a lot. Drink now and or store for a few years. Should be nice but not great.

Dark red, medium tannins, lingering finish. I liked this bottle much more than my last. Ripe cherry notes, but far from a fruit bomb. Excited to see how this progresses.

Disappointing. Maybe too young but the wine started with a decent decent nose of cherries and led to flavors of dried cranberry and a little bit of sweet strawberry.

Institute of Masters of Wine - 2013 Cabernet Walk-Around Tasting (Hyatt, San Francisco): Balanced and elegant but the quality doesn’t seem as high as the others - length, complexity of fruit character, mid-palate intensity. 13.8%.
