The nose on this wine has faded without much tertiary notes emerging, tastes fuller with the ripe fruit resolving more towards fruit brandy flavors. It seems a little out of balance now with the finish a bit hot. I suspect as others have noted that when this had the full ripe fruit of its youth that it hung together better. Still, I enjoyed it and it was interesting to drink a wine that is declining from its peak.

Pnp....dark cherry, vanilla and white pepper dominate the palate....a nice coastal pinot expression. Very similar to my previois note...except the pepper threw me a little with this bottle. Drink up as I don't see this getting any better.

Slow oxed. Cloudy red hue. Deeper red and more opaque than your typical pinot. Candied cherries on the nose. Strawberry and raspberry preserves with some vanilla and allspice on the palate. Drink up, this is not getting any better.

Drinking pretty well here. Wine is more fruit forward than I expected from AV but this is much better than other Failla wines I've had. Perhaps a few more years to see if the terroir steps forward when the fruit relaxes.

Wine and Spirits Top 100 tasting - 2015 (The Metreon, SF): Ripe, red fruit, slightly confected (whole cluster?), a brushing of new oak - some of le maquillage. Pretty, with an overall impression of sweetness - the acid is a bit less than I’d like. Slight warmth of alcohol on the finish. Well made, but not my favorite style. Score: between 8.5 and 9.

Medium dark cherry red color; aromatic, baking spice, cranberry, tart cherry nose; silky textured, baking spice, cranberry, tart cherry palate; could use 2 years; medium-plus finish 92+ points

Opened for an hour. Raspberry cobbler, strawberry purée, river rock, baking spice, white mushroom and kosher pickle. Sappy on the chiseled entry, then ending long, soaring with effortless awe. Wait a year or two. Ehren and his team have kicked ass with this fine, cool climate Anderson Valley vineyard . Drink 2017 - 2023.

Good Pinot. Drinking well right now. Pretty smooth with red fruits dominating. Soft with good acidity.

Worldwide Pinots (Sunfish Cellars, St. Paul, MN): Tasting pour. Sappy, big, ripe, vanilla, ripe cherry, strong pepper, bold and woody, lightly herbal. Not my style., YMMD.

Great wine. Needed about 30-45 minutes of air for fruit to show and a little green acidity to sit down. Nice fruit and terroir.

Much more forest floor than their Sonoma Coast bottlings. Pine needles, mushroom, and cherry. Nice balance with medium finish.
