A nice blend of varietals which produced a powerful punch. Wished I had consumed it a year or two ago. The punch was more in the heat than the fruit. Not wowed.

nice, typical aussie, muscle boy with lots of fruit and soft tannins. still carries enough acid to complement food (meaty dishes) in a nice way. might buy again

First time we had this blend from De Lisio. Deep purple/ruby in color. Clarity is excellent. Fruits come through on the nose such as cherry, black cherry, strawberry. The finish has spice and heat but not overpowering. I would purchase it again. All guests enjoyed it and complimented the wine. Aerate before serving.

I went dowstairs to select a wine for dinner and grabbed a 2002 Bordeaux. As I walked out the door, a bottle of this caught my eye and since the Jets had just drafted a QB in the first round, I switched to this. It got a 15 minute decant. A very interesting blend of Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet and Merlot. I agree with GV that the grenache predominates, with a strong raspberry flavor component, but there is also a lot of syrah blueberry and cherry. There's a bit of strawberry, a very velvet mouth feel from the merlot and a bit of earthiness from the cabernet. The alcohol level of this is 16% and it doesn't really bother me a lot, although there is some heat and it would be nice to be able to make a wine like this at 14%. The color is extremely dark, almost opaque. The nose is strong with red fruit. The finish is not as long as I would have expected. Four hours after decanting, there;s a bit of added pepper from the Syrah and the raspberry is very strong. This is not your grandmother's red wine. If you want a delicate, subdued wine, run in the other direction. BUT this will be a great addition to the opening day tailgate at the stadium this year.

Deep purple, nearly opaque. Stong Cherry and dusty Cocoa on the nose. Maybe a bit anise. The mouthfeel is rich and strong Cherry Chocolate gives way to some cream, vanila, cedar and coffee/moca points. Overall a nice wine with a spicy Pizzam mayber a bit over-ripe? I would try this again. Did not view as a stoner, but strong effort for a Shiraz.

Very smooth and easy to drink, with some depth and structure. Deep ruby, even murky red at the edges - which speaks of this wines character. Good nose of red current knitted with boysenberry. The flavors follow on the full palate with soft red currents, medium dark fruit mild tannins and juicy acidity - yes it does. Not a swing for the fence Aussie red blend which suits me fine. Young but has character and depth.

Gibby's monthly tasting (Gibby's Wine Den, Geneva, IL): A blend of Shiraz (27%), Grenache (25%), Merlot (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (23%). Inky garnet color. Notes of plum, chocolate, blackberry and blueberry, with a subtle herbal quality too. Flavors of blackberry, plum and blueberry, with juicy acidity and a long finish. Better balanced than the Andrew Rich we had just before this.

Earthy and spicy, dark ruby color. Very nice and great price point. It's a bit hot, but not off-putting.
