Surprisingly sweet. I noticed the Indice 4 after opening. Not really what we wanted and not an easy job matching with the food we had made. Use it for cheeses. Still, the balance was not impeccable.

PnP. Quite a bit of extract here. The low-ish acidity seems to keep the rich layers from flowing, and developing as they should. It was enjoyable but at times it was also something of a chore. Vintage?

Wow - this is by far the best Pinot Gris I've ever tasted. A wine made by a classic producer from Alsace. What I really like about this wine is the texture - soft and smooth. There's a creamy thickness to this wine. Immediately I can taste the intense and deep notes of sweet honey. But behind the obvious sweetness there's complex savory layers of spices and nutty notes of nutmeg - really delicious. A pricy wine but definitely something I would recommend seeking out.

A lovely version of this wine that's drinking well now with an oily texture and rich pear and lime fruit. Quite weighty and while it gives the impression of sweetness, it finishes dry and grippy. Just enough acidity to keep it fresh and a bit of botrytis has slipped into this vintage. I prefer his Rieslings but recognize the quality here.

Yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of apricot, pear and light citrus notes. Flavors of apricot core, kumquat and mango. Medium to bright acidity, full bodied. Drink or hold.

Clean. Clear, medium(-) intensity gold color. On the sweeter side of demi-sec. Medium(+) body. Medium acidity. Honey, honeydew, yellow fruit, citrus zest on the nose. Honey, honeydew, pear, grapefruit/orange zest, pepper, some fat (but no oak) on the palate. Medium finish.

Indice 4 (slightly more than off-dry); 36 g/l RS, 13% alc.; Near in proximity to Trimbach's Clos St. Hune in limestone soil; slight botrytis honeycomb notes with saffron, slight reduction and honey nut Cheerios, pure pear, quince, citrus, wet stone-iodine minerals showing through; super silky, slick, clean medium sweet, but clean, vibrant, rolls off the tongue with balanced acidity. Great wine with the right food. Not sweet enough for dessert--I would drink before dinner, on its own, or with the right Alsacian or Asian food.

Richer than Calcaire on the nose, much riper fruit on the palate as well, rounder, richer, sweeter. A bit heavy. Lacks a bit of freshness for my taste. 88-90

A very nice Pinot Gris here and its very rare I drink that. Thankfully not so heavy and Suprisingly dry for 36 grams of sugar. Wonderful with cheeses!

Over-the-top flowery and tropical notes, yet focused minerality and balanced acidity. Mango, pineapple, satisfying mouthfeel. Recommended.
