I am a big fan of Bogle and red blends as well. I like the Bogle Phantom and the guy at Binny's said this was one step down - as they were out of the Phantom. I liked it, not as much as the Phantom but great for the price. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and black pepper. It tastes like black pepper, blackberry and raspberry. The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Definitely tasting some sweetness, almost a port-y note, although it's definitely not anywhere near port-hot. Also getting some nice smokiness on the nose, and a little cherry zing. Worked well with some spicy black beans with andouille.

Popped and poured for a simple light meal of paté, sautéed vegetables, sliced apples and cheddar. Dark red, thick and heavy in the glass. On the palate, sweet. My wife (somewhat indifferent to wine), did a lip curl while questioning the paté pairing. Just good, or good enough for the occasion, but uninteresting. For <$10, it offers extracted black fruit with a California profile, largely unobjectionable but bluntly excessive. And sometimes a glass or two of that is just the thing.

My impressions of this bottle were almost identical to my last notes. The cab was not quite as predominate to me in this bottle. Again if I have a choice, I'll spend my money on the Bogle OVZ which I can get for over $1 cheaper and look to other brands of Mixed blend reds.

A nose of dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied blend, with blackberry, black cherry, licorice and spice on finish, a easy drinker, great QPR. www.winelx.com

The wine looks maroon colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like squished strawberry and blackberry. Dried fruit, fruit leathers, red cherry, plum, canilla, cinnamon, mint. Somewhat sweet. Brief finish.

I enjoyed this wine and will drink it again but it is not comparable to the old vine Zin or their Petit Sirah. This has a lot of tasty oak which some people may consider too much. I could separate out a lot of green olive Cabernet and the lush fruit of the PS but did not sense much Zin. The wine seemed a bit thin and watery for the Bogle big fruit wines I am used to.

Bogle does not disappoint with this one. I am a red blend fan, and this one has all my favorite grape varieties. A rich, smooth wine with the perfect blend of fruit and spice. Comparable, in my humble opinion, to some $30 bottles I have tasted.

Nice aromas. Vanillas. Red and black fruits. Good with cheeses and pastas. Very good wine for the money.

Decent, fruit-forward, crowd-pleaser. Good for a party with a group of casual wine drinkers. Not complex, but an easy sipper. 84-85 pts.

A little sweet. Went well with grilled tri tip steak although I wish I had an argentine malbec instead.

Considering we were expecting nothing more than simple fruit juice, this was a nice surprise. Actually liked it a bit better than Bogle's Phantom.

Tart cherry fruit with acidity to match. Medium bodied with light, sweet tannins. Better and more pleasing than the 2010.

A solid wine at this price point. A bit too much oak/vanilla for my tastes. Didn't hold up well on the next day. A good wine none-the-less.
