Sadly I only have one more bottle out of 3 cases purchased in 2012. Still singing with deep purple fruit, gripping tannins, and enough acid to keep everything perfectly balanced. Some leather and camphor notes to boot. Love this wine.

Amazing wine! Deep rich red and dark red fruit flavors and spice. It evolved in the decanter and the glass over the course of the evening. Tasted great with food and on its own. I got a hint of an over-oxidized wine, but that disappeared with about 15 minutes of being in our glasses. There are solids in the bottle so beware when decanting. I am guessing this might have another year of good drinking ahead of it.

This really drank well on both of two nights (with a pump after first night). Didn't take long to open up, and was very Cab-like in fruit and intensity and some smoke and tobacco, but very smooth and balanced at the end. While Cab-like, had that unmistakably Tuscan terroir that I can't find the right words for. Good on its own, even better with the traditional spaghetti/meat sauce combo.

Beautiful wine. Dark, almost violet red. Wonderful red berry aromas. On the palate showing wonderful and smooth cherry, raspberry and blackberry aromas, ending with a white pepper / spicy note. Tannins were medium strong, the wine has many years to go. On the second day same strong showing!

Better than our first bottle. Decanted to remove the solids and give it some air. Started drinking about 45 minutes later. Very deep almost opaque purple. This Sangiovese blend possesses great mouth feel, richness and intensity without being an overbearing dinner companion. Primarily tastes of rich red and dark fruits with spices and some earthiness. This bottle tastes fine without any food. After several hours much of its richness passed and a mineral character emerged. This wasn't unpleasant, just different.

Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2015-06; Tuscany (except Chianti) (@ My place): A special blend: 40% Montepulciano , 35% Sangiovese, 15% Marselan, 5% Alicante Bouchet and 5% unknown. The wine gets French oak, but I have no details.Beautiful bouquet with red fruits, sweet spices, lavender, tobacco and a pleasant touch of barnyard. On the palate concentrated dark fruits, red fruits, plum, tobacco and good oak. Beautiful acidity and healthy, round tannin with good bitterness in the finish. A really lovely and exiting wine with good complexity. Ready now and the next 3+ years.

Upon opening this showed beautiful dark fruit with luxurious oak and nice acidity. After 3 hours slow ox it was quite tight but opened up again after another hour in the glass. I think this needs some time in the cellar but has nice potential.

Rich and robust. Deep purple going into the decanter. Drank over the course of the evening. Really is a wine that should be consumed with food. On its own, it's not so interesting. With food, wow! Nice Sangiovese notes along with spiciness. It still seemed pretty young.

Better second night - developed some depth. Remained solid the third night. A wine of restrained power and masculinity and quite delicious. Just missing something to be a top-shelf wine - balance maybe? It also had an odd hint of green or vegetal character which may have been bottle variation as I don't recall it from the first time I had the wine. Still, a nice experience at a reasonable price.

Teeth staining fun! An interesting and unique blend of varietals - all Italian. Earth , floral, and dried fruit with a hint of spice. This was quite well balanced with enough acidity for dinner but was pleasant enough before dinner. Drying finish with minimal fruit, but overall smooth.

Really good! A core of dark black fruit. Decanted for an hour or so. Black cherry and blackberry mixed with some spice for a long finish. Needed the air to open up, but drank very well now. Moderate tannins. Drink now-2017.

Friday Night Double Blind $30+ (Bin 75): Dark core with garnet rim; chestnut, acorn, red fruit and vegetal, lots of mushroom, asparagus; darker fruit on the palate, slightly brooding with its copious tannin that dries out your mouth, lower acid, lots of leather; good and interesting even though the note sounds so negative.

Had this bottle with an Italian dinner, pairing with food made a big difference, before the meal this was closed and somewhat underwhelming, during the meal it opened up and had much more character.

Full throttle high alc wine. The alcohol distracts from what is the more interesting fruit and nuanced character of the wine. After you get over the alcohol assualt you will appreciate the underlying wine which is quite nice.

Delicious ripe dark berries, excellent structure, floral notes of Sangiovese,,some iron/minerals, and a little sear from the 15% etoh. One of my favorite Tuscan wines, considering the price.

Nose of Leather, tobacco and cassis. Bold dark fruit up front with some strawberry in the midpalate transitions to some firm tannins with a hint of cacao on the finish.

Cherries and ripe berries. The fruit flavors are supported by spicy components and delicate roasted notes. Medium to full body. Medium to long finish. A must have!

This is a darker, rich bodied with some blended dark fruit upfront and a slight cherry finish. Some charred oak—lingers on the mouth. Nice alcohol balance. Some caulk in the finish. Served with finger sandwiches of Iberian ham, black truffle cheese and pecorino with honey; worked well. This is a Jaguar X-Type in style: some nice features, decent design but if you sit down and think about it (in this era) it is still a Ford under the hood. Not a bad rap...Ford makes a good car but you know it is good car but may just lack that something special.

Palate and nose were fairly bland. Surprising for a wine sporting 15% alcohol. I was expecting something more hedonistic. Styled like a luxury wine, mouthfeel fits that, but the flavors were nothing special. To its credit, the high alcohol level was pretty well integrated.
