Thursday, November 25, 2021 - I waited a half hour before initial swirl and sip and an hour before tasting. Alluring scents of dark fruits leads into an elegant but mellow upfront burst of stewed cherries and plum with hints of pepper. A preface of well-balanced and bright harmony leads to a thin, subdued finish - appropriate, given the occasion. Past her prime, with mischievous tannins long departed, she makes for an acceptable date and starter to this year's family thanksgiving dinner. Given the bottle year, she was once a Bond girl or muse to a Bond villain, but now she's just my companion for the evening. An hour and a half post opening, she starts charming with her cocoa notes and shows a little more character; still finishes thin and mellow.
