Saturday, January 24, 2009 - Popped and poured. Dark ruby. Loads of candied berry fruit upfront (mostly blueberry). This Right-Bank blend also offers lots of vanilla, raspberry, chocolate, and some definite green herbs going on in there someplace. Kinda floral, too. Complex wine. Nice fine-grained texture. Lots of tannic grip, as well. A lot to like here. But then the finish kicks in: Chalky, drying and cardboardy. Quite off putting, and (hopefully) a result of TCA or some other flaw. Night two: No doubt, this is corked: The nasty finish has taken over the entire palate.
