88 Points

Thursday, November 13, 2008 - Color - a pretty ruby mixed w/a deep maroon.

Nose - big sweet chocolate, some hay & violates & just a hint of dirt. U can really smell the acids like the wine is from a cool climate. Some concentrated raspberry reduction. Getting a real chocolate raspberry tart, drizzled w/a raspberry licquor. It smells yummy!

Palate - almost bracing acids up front. The same chocolate raspberry thing goin on. Lots O flowers & some biting tannins on the finish but not 2 much. Its a really nice wine and follows the trend 4 me with many vintages of this wine, high concentration, nice earth & flowers but its missing the velvety mouthfeel and the acids are out of balance.
Hard 2 score 4 me cuz I love this wine & the winery bout I guess I gotta give it 88pts cuz its just not quite outstanding w/the acids outta wack. I'm really struggling 2 find the right cellar time for this wine. I've had 00-05 over the last year & a half and they are all over the place!

It did definitely improve after 3 days on the counter w/notes of hay, chocolate, black berries & cherries but really tastes like its from yakima. _________________
