2011 Markus Molitor Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese *** (Golden Capsule)

How to objectively rate some of the greatest sweet wines of all time? It's tough. I had the fortune to drink almost a whole bottle of this and can still taste it in my mouth. Deep golden, sappy in the glass. Notes of honey, jasmine, quince, green tea, raisin. Silky texture, blasting acidity, low alcohol. Long finish that last for an eternity. Pure and vibrant wine that perfectly reflects sense of place and the greatness of Riesling. Just wow.

2010 Domaine Grand Veneur Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes

Popped and decanted for about 5 hours. Very modern style of CdP - open and approachable right off the bat, with a sweet-fruited nose and palate. Tertiary notes just starting to show on the palate. Full-bodied with ripe tannins and moderate acidity. Smooth texture, almost creamy from the oak. Everything in check. Drink now or leave for 15-20 years.

2010 E. Guigal Ermitage Ex-Voto

Popped and decanted for about 5 hours. Deep ruby in the glass with some garnet edges and a bit of sediment on the bottom. Opened and tasted about 12 bottles of this in the same night and it didn't impress me much. The wine seems quite advanced for its age and doesn't give an impression of a powerful Hermitage that can go on for decades as was stated in Wine Advocate. When I saw the price after, I almost passed out.
