  • On pop 'n pour this was a one note. It happened to be a good note, but is wasn't complex...all ripe pink lady apple on the nose and the palate. 1.5 hours later and on to the 2nd day, this is smelling and tasting like some very herbaceous amaro, with bruised apple and coffee grounds. By this time the flavors on the palate are more mineral, white mushroom and dirty apple skin. This is definitely more complex than on pop 'n pour, and its fairly yummy/complex as far as natural Champagnes go. However, in the full spectrum of great Champagne, this was more interesting than pleasurable, yet still pleasurable. There is definitely an delicious oxidized note on day 2.

  • Rich-scaled red fruit standing on a foundation of quenching chalkiness, Dry, almost like a crisp pilsner.
0g/L dosage but easy and delicious as this is, blind, I bet most of us would call it a 3-6 g/L extra brut. 63% Pinot noir, 37% Chard, disgorged Feb 2023

  • Extraordinary. As always the impeccable purity and focus of Marguet's wine is absolute top level. Very youthful, powerful, clean. Muscular acidity. Very long. Great now better later. Top!

  • At L’aupiho restaurant, Les Baux-de-Provence.

Spicy and fairly powerful, with notable energy on the front end pushing out shouldery red berry, orange rind, and bruised lemon flavors. I liked this quite a bit, urging me to go down the Marguet rabbit hole a bit further. This is pretty compelling stuff for a more "generalized" appellation Champagne, and considering the decent price point (at least in France).

  • Marguet Tasting (Tanglin Club Tang Yun): 63% PN, 37% C, tirage 18/06/19, disgorged 02/23, 3265 bottles, 0g/l, sulfites 17mg/l, Pnp a little green, muted on the aroma, not very integrated. After time in the glass, it gain weight and seem more integrated with focus and linearity.
