Master class "Wines from the Douro and beyond" with Luis Carlos Fernandes of Symington Estates (Hochschule Geisenheim, Germany): Wine 6. A blend of 70% Touriga Nacional and 30% Touriga Franca, aged for 15 months in new 400-liter French oak barrels. Dark purple colour. Red, blue, and black fruit, beetroot, spices, vanilla, Earl Grey tea and slate-like minerality, with medium-level acidity, ripe, round tannin, and great persistence. The ripe, medium to full-bodied wine is made in an international style, and quite appealing. Well executed.
