  • "Chryseia" is the project of Bruno Prats (former owner of Cos d'Estournel) and the Symington port family (Warre's, Dow's, Graham's, Cockburn's).

deep purple, opaque and with appreciable body in the glass. initially reticent, it shows an elegant nose where rose petals and violets swirl along the plum, blue fruit, tobacco and cedar aromas. quite tight, grippy and fresh, it takes its time for to unwind its smooth texture to reveal layers of plum, cassis and blueberries with an herbal lift and savoury spice and pepper accents. very very long and nuanced finish.

impeccably balanced and with the fruit, structure and acidity to go a long way, it is just approaching its drinking window… but clearly, its better rewards are a good handful of years away.

14.5% AbV; 75% Touriga Nacional/ 25% Touriga Franca; aged for fourteen months in new 400L French oak barrels
