A little surprising on the nose with guava and some cat’s pee. There is peach as well as a little dry sandy soil vibes. Orange water. On the palate it’s much more recognisable with medium body and some oilyness. Notes of butter, wool and nectarine. Maybe a touch of pear. It’s definitely a great QPR but so far Chenin Blanc in general does not impress me. 8/18

(Dry Creek Vineyard Chenin Blanc Dry Clarksburg) Very light straw yellow color; fresh, ripe Pink Lady apple, tart white peach nose; tasty, juicy, tart peach, white grapefruit, light lemon palate with near medium acidity; medium-plus finish (12% alcohol; stainless steel fermented seeing no oak; .35% residual sugar by weight; screwcap closure)

Standup tasting. Melon and green apple with good enough weight, certainly not too warm or flabby. Good value.
