1st time trying an EGW. Opened and let breathe for about 1 hour. Did a blind tasting against a 2020 Chateau del a Cree Las Terrassas and a 2019 Aubert Park Ave. Golden in color in the glass and a fragrant nose of lemon curd, slight minerality. Overall a good Chard that is still young but the Aubert was much better while the french Chard was very light and gravelly. Price point is a bit prohibitive with so many really good Chard's in this price point, especially since 00 doesn't do tastings or have any events for their allocation list.

Wanted to try one of these young and prior attempt was corked... served side by side with a Bachelet Monnot Puligny village; the nose here was super reticent; took nearly an hour to start to open up; showed riper orchard fruits with peach, red apple, some notable wood spice with sweet almost caramel like notes; richer and denser on the palate, not as much minerality or freshness. Very good, needs time to develop more, absorb the wood more and open up. While I liked this I preferred the Puligny for its floral and mineral notes. This will likely age better though.

Great wine. Nice body. No oak. Smooth. Not sure I would pay this much for it.

Tasted at Fruits of the Vine 2024 at Edition Hotel Singapore. Not able to write down tasting notes, only rating score.

Looking back through pictures and forgot to note this pull.
Bottle 2 of 6 and this is much improved over the past year. Well integrated and lovely now and will continue to age well.
Drink or hold
