  • The WVV Tualatin Estate has been one of my favorite pinot noirs for a number of years, and the 2019 has to be one of their finest vintages. In the glass, it's crystal clear and a deep cherry red tinged with grapish purple. Has a delicate floral nose, with a hint of raspberries and strawberries on the tongue. A delicate and low acid wine with mellowed tannins, very faint cinnamon, and a lovely vanilla-tinged finish. Absolutely love this - one of the finest I've enjoyed this year. It's great just for sipping on the back deck as we watch the sun go down (shortly!), or with dinner if you're serving a grilled steak worthy of its excellence. Also would likely go really well with any Italian foods with marinara sauce, as long as they weren't so strongly seasoned as to overwhelm it. My only sad note is that we're currently enjoying the last bottle from the cellar .... what remains down there are the 2020s.
