Quite good. Still fresh but secondary notes coming through. A touch too much VA on this bottle. Lacks a bit of the depth and complexity that later bottlings from Gonon have.

Great Gonon Tasting (Frederiksberg): Grand Vin is here; as expected if the vintage, this stands out, it is rich, yet complex, better than many wines from Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie; like in 2010, they are pushing the envelope here. Still, judging from the 1989 of the wine, I see no reason to keep it much longer - it is still a saint-joseph.

This was built to last and last, and it has! A lot of St. Josephs are ready to go only a few years out. Not good old (fashioned) Gonon... At this point the wine is smooth, rich, savory and balanced. Notes of olives, bay, thyme and dry earth compliment the package.
After a day of being opened it was better. After two days of being opened it was even better. After three days it was at peak. WTG
Only lacked depth to push the score higher.
