Color - Medium Garnet Nose - Boysenberries, plum, raspberries with a hint of cherry. Palate - Does not live up to the nose, a bitter bite on middle front part of tongue that lasts way into finish. Had with Italian tomato based sauce on pasta, that helped to alleviate some of the bitterness. Maybe the Hungarian oak influence lends to the bite. This bottle is a replacement for a 2015 that had the same bitterness but less nose, see earlier review. I do not see the 96 average from two other reviews. Will try in 24 hours to see if gets better. 24 hours later the sharp bitter taste has pretty much dissipated, very late in finish is still there but ever so faint. Fruit beginning to show itself. Maybe it needs to be run thru a aerator right after first opening.

Sweet fruit up front. No heat. No sediment or bricking. A little dry. Probably batter on day 1 than 2. Didn’t aerate.

Deep rich colors and currants on the nose. Full body and medium tanins on the tongue. Smooth finish. Would go well with short ribs.

Aerated for a while but found that it paled after being open for a short time. Not my fav vineyard.
