In the decanter 30 mins prior to drinking, drank over the next 90 mins or so. Very different experience from my last bottle ~18 months ago. Drank after Kaesler Old Vine, probably wrong order of drinking yes, and perhaps review is somewhat comparative. Little bit of prettiness to it, perfumed, dry ish red fruits, raspberry, cranberry, faint touch of jube to it. Fuller bodied style of grenache as always, and very smashable. In a good space for me personally, but I prefer fruit profile / primary notes on my grenache and on higher alcohol wines.

3 hour decant prior to drinking. Not as good as I recall when tasted last in Nov-21. Not a lot of primary indicators, a bit of mustiness about it, full, lush, overripe and juicy, but somewhat lacking in anything remarkable. Big wine as always. Holding up well but it felt older than 2016.

Tried in a vertical tasting of Noon Eclipse 2013-2018. 2016 rated second or third of the vintages by most of the group, showed the most savoury meatiness after opening up with a decant.
