What a great zin, super layered and complex with multiple oak styles peeking through the rich dark black and purple fruit, wonderful spice, and smooth as silk on the finish. Ready!

Semi-translucent ruby red. Bramble, dirty strawberry and cedar on the nose. Medium bodied, raspberries, white pepper, tart cherries, sage, well integrated tannins, tobacco smoke, and a tasty medium-plus finish. Well made and delicious.

41st Annual Zinfandel Retrospective - the 2014s (R&Ds): Double blind. Notes of red berry, licorice and candied red fruit. Has an herbal/garrigue quality on the palate. The alcohol starts to poke out just a bit, but there's nice brambly fruit and it's not hot, just noticeable. Cherry, raspberry and black briary fruit with an herbal element.

Not as peppery as I expected, only on the front end. Dark fruit notes are abundant (plum, blackberry, and a light note of strawberry in the background), a long finish with complex notes. Not overly dry, but certainly not too sweet.
Low in tannins and easy to drink. Best, with red meat with a possibly higher fat content.

A bright deep plum on the tongue on this full body wine. Coats the inside of the glass. Nose is very inviting with hints of licorice, some vanilla and red fruit. Opened on the early side of drink window, could stand a few more years aging. Decant for a couple hours and some of sharp corners lessen to reveal balanced wine with blackberries plums and black pepper. Finish is long with a nice structure of tannins. 95+ year old vines... love it..
