Opened by Jcubed from magnum. Light gold color. This seemed older than 8 years but was drinking very well. Notes of pears and tropical fruits. Moderately sweet and balanced by fine acidity. Previously had the 1995, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005 vintages of this wine. Give this time. 93 points.

CWM Holiday Dinner - 2008 Champagnes (Pa Lian Burmese, Wheaton): Magnum. Medium yellow color. Aromas of petrol, pear, stone fruit and apple. Balanced. Stone fruit, slate, lime and petrol flavors. I was surprised by how well this is drinking out of this format. (J3)

Old gold color. Some petrol on the nose but doesn't detract on the palate. The wine has sweetness but is restrained enough to be balanced with the natural Riesling acidity. I find it hard to stop after a few sips--the urge is to continue sipping it. Hints of honey, white flowers, jasmine and ripe pear. It held up in the refrigerator for a month after opening!
Amazing freshness on this bottle. Started with classic riesling notes of lime and peaches. With air, more orange fruit notes came to dominate like tangerines. Some minerality present throughout but nothing huge compared to a dry riesling consumed recently. This really excelled on its balance and freshness, which made it so easy to drink. Felt like I was drinking sweetened but not cloying spring water.

Golden peach, yellow/golden apple, pineapple and mango on a very aromatic nose. Medium bodied (7.5% ABV) with a beautiful mix of fruit including both white and yellow peach and white pineapple and other, mixed, tropical notes behind. There's very good depth through the middle and as pretty as the fruit is today, it's clearly only getting started. Fruit starts to become slightly muted on the backside as the acidity comes in. Acidity behind isn't quite electric, but still vibrant which adds liveliness and energy to the wine. Plenty of varied citrus notes on the backside to go along with the acidity and mineral qualities. This wine clearly has room to improve (even given how well it showed today) and I'll plan to open my next bottle in July 2025.
