I was in the mood for a well aged, and nicely structured zin last night, and this beauty checked all the boxes. Deep purple in color with a fairly expressive nose of blackberries and baking spices. Almost claret-like on the palate with a Medium bodied and complex mix of plums, black cherries, pepper, and a slightly tannic and very structured finish. Really enjoyable and drinking perfectly right now. I'm a big fan of Dry Creek Vineyards and their entry level zins (old vine, heritage, etc), so I'm not surprised this single vineyard bottle was so good. Too bad there's not more to go round- 266 cases produced.
