It was a fresh-looking yellowish upon pouring, but it took on a maturing full yellow during the course. There is some resemblance to the splendid 2004 Kabinett from this monopole vineyard, with its exotic hints of ginger, but it's a mere whisper. There's lychee and blossom, but I wouldn't call it lifted. There's a petillance when first poured, but it fades after a couple of minutes. A fresh and precise kabinett profile morphs as it reacts to the oxygen into a braoder, spätlese style with rounded edges. The front to middle flavours can be described as tropical (without the presence of peach) and the finish is closer to dried apricot. While it's very good, it's clearly not quite up there with the 2007 kabinetts of Weiser-Künstler or Willi Schaefer.

German Rieslings do so reward a bit of patience. Almond blossom nose, almond, peach, and green apple in the mouth. The wine is light, flowery, airy, and off-dry. A lovely example of Mosel Kabinett; it goes down so easily! Cellared since original release.

nice golden color; nose hints of rubber, green apples, citrus notes; medium weight palate that is initially sweet then the acid hits and I love it, really nice acid and minerality, green apples and lemons; medium + finish. this was really nice with Thai food.

Delicious and minerally kabinett riesling. Nose of hints of fresh bread, green nectarine, and ripe hard cheese. In the mouth gentle in the mid-palate with a mineral twang and slightly sweet fruit (golden apples, other) with some glycerin. Finishes with distinct mineral aftertaste balancing the almost sweet apples. Off dry, body medium, acid medium. Quite tasty.

Sweeter than I expected. Barbara liked it. went okay with halibut but would have been better with spicy food.
