Still alive, but well along the downward slope. Fairly light in body, just a luck of acidity remains, mature but not too funky, improved after 30 mins and held up over a couple of hours, still some pleasure to be had but not exciting

Cloudy in appearance but clean on the nose. Not primary flavours obviously, but still a hint of fruit and more meaty notes. More impressive on the palate. Fruit a bit more obvious which is amazing. Touch of raspberry and wood. The longevity of this wine is incredible.

An intellectual experience more than a hedonistic one, this nevertheless has managed to keep hold of the guts and terroir you would expect of a Grand Cru. Beefy, soupy with meat, fennel, spices and black cherries. Holding on reasonably well, although the finish lacks the depth of a truly great Grand Cru.
