Typical Californian nose of a Pinot Noir. A pleasant freshness wrapped in oppressive red fruit. Above all the aromas of the red cherry, you can also smell a light herbal note of dried bay leaves, freshly picked porcini mushrooms float in the background and there is a delicate smell of raisins and vanilla. The mouth explodes after the first sip. We don't drink fine Pinot Noir that you can talk about for hours. The "Russian River Valley" is voluminous, almost fat. It comes across like an intense cherry juice. A healthy acidity keeps the wine relatively fresh and yet, due to the sweetness present, you get the feeling that you might as well drink a super elegant and slim Madeira. Drunk in a Zalto Burgundy glass.
