  • 1991 Opus One

Dark color edge browning. Cedar and saddle leather notes. Sweet tones exaggerated by chocolate vanilla cream over tea tannins addled by smoke which intrude. The fruit was deep in its youth now mellowed and beyond its time. A curiosity for its sweet aging and tannic persistence.
The cork was deep seated as opposed to nearly all recent Bordeaux and AhSoed in one piece. Interested in why recent Bordeaux purchases show nearly extruded corks?

  • 2019 Château Malescot St. Exupéry

Assertive nose grape skin and orchids. Dark blackish purple. A backward mildly over extracted 2019. The lovely ripe fruit and over extraction highlighting cedar and green components explain the differing notes, each taste offers its own sensation. Perhaps, in 5 years, no guaranty.

  • 2020 Domaine Patrick Javillier Meursault Tête de Murgers Cuvée

Extracting the enclosure with reverence and the anticipation of a child at Christmas, I poured a good measure into the large delicate stemmed tulip, then heard murmurs in French, tried to remove not there earbuds, continued murmuring simultaneous translation, what is transpiring? "How can such ordinary people be intitled to drink the greatest wines?" Fantomes of grapes indignant their noble history not properly rewarded, enjoyed by commoners. Mon Dieu. I was embarrassed, although the whispers ceased after I sipped with humility and grace.
That is the reason for no score, no assessment.
