2014 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Vergers

Lunch at Le petit sommelier from a presumably well-stored local bottle. It did pour a little golden which had me worried, but opened up beautifully with air. This bottle is fully mature with plenty of complex honey notes integrated with the mature fruit, still fresh and lively, but definitely maturing in fruit profile. More advanced than I would have guessed based upon multiple tasty bottles in the US a few years ago.

Late night bottle at Les Arches des Vins. Just a killer bottle that is showing so much already. Killer depth and concentration with fruit, mineral and white florals. Bright, tangy acidity is well integrated with the round, concentrated fruit. A great vintage.

2019 Cecile Tremblay Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaumonts

Lunch wine at Castel Tres Girard, and then tasted again 24 hours later. This is certainly a ripe and high-toned vintage for Cecile. Lots to like about the purity of fruit and intense spice notes, though this is also full throttle and the alcohol was poking out on day two. Not a sure thing to age gracefully.
