Nose - loads of figs here. Whoa! Mouth - initially jammy but my palate is soon overwhelmed by tannins and acidity. Some power and serious stuffing here. Jammy but maybe really more accurately described as tarry. Really quite young actually; this has southern Europe written all over it.

Classic seashell nose. Winetender got burnt corn Mouth - very Chablis with an impressive zing that makes it hard to tire of tasting it. With some nibbles this would be even better. The quality to price ratio is impressive. I recommend this without reservation.

Nose- fragrant berry, rose, grassy, young, by nose alone could be new world Mouth- excellent showing even at this young age. Loads of red and dark berry fruit, with great counterbalancing acidity. Tannins present but won’t last long. Excellent and extremely quafable, which is not necessarily praise for a wine of this caliber.. really enjoyed but there’s superb Beaujolais out there that delivers at a similar level at a fraction. Hold 5+ yrs , maybe develop to something even more impressive

3/22/2016 8:14:00 PM - Hi Soyhead,
I realized that you drink a lot of mexican wines. Whenever I post a tasting note on a mexican wine there is already one of yours. I live in Mexico, and since I live here I naturally got more into mexican wines (which I actually find quite interesting... seems like the wild west of wine making down here). You live in California, is there a lot of mexican wine available? So whats your special interest in mexican wines?
Cheers!

More over a good description of what's American oak influence over Rioja wine and more specifically over great Rioja wineries.
Just kidding but it seems that everybody is attending the same boring seminar...
Cheers!
1/26/2013 10:07:00 AM - understand. maybe you could look at our wines in common and let me know how many? i am always interested to see others whose tasting notes that i am a fan of often have a number of wines cellared in common with me. also sometimes gives a better idea of a persons tastes to know what they put away compared with what they taste. anyway, no creepy or sinister motives, just curious. Best. chc
