Nose initially shows notes of cassis and barbecue smoke. With time, it reveals of red fruit (cherry?) and black spice (pepper? cardamom?). Medium-bodied, with punchy acidity and tight tannin. Flavours of blackberry, preserved cherry, and black pepper. Pretty closed at the moment, but has potential.

Little ullage, cork in good condition. Nose and palate show strong aged notes (compost, sawdust) and mild fruit notes (black cherry, blackberry). With time, it develops notes of leather and burnt caramel. Tannin is delightfully soft, but acidity is slightly sharp, and there's a touch of oxidation. Good on its own, and wonderful with food (beef sausages and cabbage), but declining.

Possibly a bad bottle. Nice, but dull. Mild flavours of apple and lemon. Soft, with light effervescence and moderate oxidation.
