3.5 hour decant. Loads of sediment. Came out of bottle fully secondary - all earthy notes, macerated/cooked fruit and French oak. Time in decanted significantly freshened up the fruit to reveal wild raspberry, youthful acidity and the oak integrated pleasantly. Wine is well structured and demands to be paired with food (rabbit ragu in this instance). Really started singing at hour 5 1/2 - aromatics became ultra floral and fresh and palate followed suit. The wines won't be improving, but it should continue to hold steady for at least 5 more years. Give it time in the decanter!
