This bottle was definitely corked (musty, swimming pool like nose), but loaded with fruit on the palate. Odd, really. Three of us were drinking the bottle, everyone noticed the smell, but everyone kept drinking it anyway because it tasted great (tooch's description below is accurate). Saved a bit for the next day, and yep, it's still definitely corked.

Moldy under the capsule, but no seepage. The first tine of the ah-so opener dropped the cork into the bottle with near zero pressure. Sigh. Decanted the bottle to get the wine away from the gunk on the top of the cork, and immediately served. Rich golden yellow color. Nose of lightly sweet apricots, with a very little petrol funk that blew off in 5-10 minutes. Medium-thick glycerin like mouthfeel - very much like a young BA or Sauternes. Dried peach and apricot on the palate, with tones of nuttiness. Maybe a touch of botrytis, but very little. Quite dry with good acid to balance the remaining sweetness. Much more dry than a young Kabinett, but definitely not as much bite as a younger Trocken. Held up for about an hour - after 2 hours, there was very little nose or palate left aside from the acid.

Unfortunately this bottle took a dive off the top rack of our wine shelf today. It smelled really great. We'll drink the other one soon.
