  • 2018 Coppo Gavi La Rocca

Pale lemon, with medium intensity, developing aromas of lemon, muskmelon, daisy, banana, and thyme. This wine has high acidity, medium alcohol and body, with medium intensity, flavors of lemon, melon, banana, peach, and thyme. This wine has a pretty amazingly long medium plus finish.
This is a very good wine that should be drunk immediately as it is probably already passed its prime.

  • 2018 Bodegas Juan Gil Monastrell Jumilla

Decanteds two hours. Medium ruby with brick colored edges. Medium intensity, aromas of violets, blackberry, black, plum, cedar, tobacco, bloody meat, and Asian spice. The black plum predominates as far as aromas go. This wine has medium plus tannins and body with high alcohol and medium acidity. This wine has medium intensity, flavors of violets, black, plum, cedar, tobacco, tar, nutmeg, and earth. The tertiary flavors are much more pronounced than when I drank this wine a couple of years ago. This is a very good wine that should be drunk now it should last to 2030. The QPR on this wine is through the roof as I only played $14 for this. What stands out for me is the intensity of the black plum flavors as well as the complexity of the six year-old wine

  • 2012 Paitin di Pasquero-Elia Barbaresco Serra

Decanted for an hour. Medium garnet with water at the edge. Medium intensity, aromas of sour cherry, caramel, cedar, mushroom, earth, leather, with a hint of tar. This wine has medium acidity and high alcohol with medium body and medium tannins. The pallet matches the aromas and the sour cherry cedar and tar predominate with a medium finish.

This is a good wine that should be drunk now and the next three years. The fruit is fading, and this is past its peak
