wet forest floor, old leather, and dried roses on the nose. same on the palate along with dark cherry. believe this saw some new oak. tannins are now fully integrated and the wine is drinking quite well. a soft texture is followed by a finish that falls out a bit at the end. wine did not wow me..........little to no bricking and a very dark color further indicate the use of new oak.

Decanted for about an hour to let a barnyard funk to blow off. It still had an off taste which disappeared as we drank the rest of the wine over another hour plus. Dry flowers with a medium, very dry tannin.By the end of the carafe the wine was excellent (93+) but rated down from the funk and off-flavors until a bunch of hours sitting.

Brun farge.

Older now, more closed, woody, less opulent, less fruity. The Cerretta beauty almost breaks out from under the wood and tobacco aromatics, but can't quite do it. Woody, too oaky, less interesting and accessible now. Seemingly more wood treatment here than in prior versions of this wine.

Spent almost 8 hours in decanter before dinner. It seemed to have a lot of VA on opening, but by dinner, it was textbook Barolo with cherries, tar and flowers. There is a savory element of celery salt and forest floor too, and I think this wine will be at it’s peak in the next few years. I’d heard many disappointing comments about this wine, so I was pleasantly surprised by how well it showed.

I was confused by his wine. Upon opening, very fruit syrup like taste. However, 2nd day it was heavenly and Barolo characteristics came shining through. I recommend decanting for a good chunk of time to let it open.

Wow, completely different view of this wine tonight. Burnt rubber, rust and a touch of spicey cough syrup. Strange over ripe Nebbiolo now decaying fast, but still with a fix of powdery tannin. Don't know whether to hold, or wished I had drunk them early!

Good menthol, spice and young fruit on the nose. Depth and ripe richness, with powdery tannins on the palate. Still so youthful, fresh & enjoyable, but more complexity, maturity and deeper enjoyment to follow.

Still young and wrapped up tight, the fruit comes out with a couple hour decant and some rich food to cut the tannin (pork shoulder braised with kale over polenta). Lovely and drinkable, everything you want in a Barolo, if not the most complex bottle.

Decanted two hours which helped tremendously. Broadened into a fairly generous wine with enough acid to carry the flavors through a medium length finish. Not the most complex Barolo, but very lovely nonetheless.

Very seductive nose -- sweet dusty rose petals, bit of tar, pine needles, with layers of complexity. Soft, fruity, with some cherry flavors; showing plenty of baby fat. Very approachable now, but lacks structure in the finish. Shines with food, a bit flat solo -- needs time to meld the fruit into a nice backbone. Should drink well in about 7-10yrs. B+

Woody, generic wine; cola, soaked wine barrel. Lacked minerality, aromatic complexity. Drank over several days; never came alive.

a couple hours breathing helped. Classis Barolo rose petal, anise and a pinot like profile. Aromatic and very nice.

Drying tannins on the finish and adequate acid makes me think this has the potential to go the long haul. Herbs, dried red fruit. Tre bicchieri.
